Striking the Balance

The Aboriginal Students' Centre (ASC) is continuing with their program "Striking the Balance".  This program focuses on everyday issues that Aboriginal students face while in University. Each term will provide you with the opportunity for a multitude of different activities both on-campus and off-campus community based sessions!

The Striking the Balance sessions are set up to be an informal meeting place for students to feel comfortable and relaxed!

The program will take place on the the following dates in term one:

  • Thursday, October 6, 4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, October 13,  4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, October 20, 4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, October 27, 4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, November 3, 4:30 -7:30pm
  • Thursday, November 10,  4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, November 17, 4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, November 24, 4:30-7:30pm
  • Thursday, December 1, 4:30-7:30pm

 

Included in the programming will be volunteer opportunities that will assist and contribute to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. Some examples include helping out at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge, Saskatoon Indian Metis Friendship Centre, and St. Mary's Community School. Volunteering is based on community need and will be posted at the ASC for interested volunteers!
