Change an exam date

The university will not accommodate a request to reschedule an exam because of personal reasons.   Part of the responsibility as a student of the University of Saskatchewan is to fulfill the obligation of attending classes right up to and including the examination.

Examination regulations state that final exams may be scheduled at any time during the examination period; students should therefore avoid making prior travel or other commitments for this period.

The regulation on examinations states that no student writes more than 2 final examinations in a row. That means that one night exam must be included to have three or more exams in a row.  Examples of three exams in a row (24-hour period) would be:

  • 9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. (all in the same day)
  • or 2:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. (the next day)
  • or 7:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. (the following day), and then 2:00 p.m.

Two exams at the same time is a valid conflict.  Two exams on one day does not constitute an exam conflict.  If you have a valid conflict, contact Student Central immediately at:  askus@usask.ca

If you have a reason for changing the date of your exam, you may wish to contact your instructor with your request.  The instructor may choose to accommodate you at their discretion but is not obligated to do so.
