QuickTalks

Drop-in to the SECC to meet with one of our friendly staff in an informal group setting to discuss your job search documents. QuickTalks are one hour drop‑in sessions held at various times throughout the week and are first come, first served; you are welcome to drop in and leave at any time. Given this group setting, you may be surprised by what you can learn from others in the room!

You can expect that a QuickTalk facilitator will do their best to answer any questions that you might have and to make suggestions to help you stand out during your job search! However, to make the most of your time in a QuickTalk, prior to dropping in for a session, have a look at our online resume and cover letter guides and try your hand at creating your documents.

QuickTalk sessions are offered at the SECC regularly throughout the week at the following times:

Day Time
Mondays 8 - 9 a.m., 1-2 p.m.
Tuesdays 9:30 -10:30 a.m., 12:30 -1:30 p.m.
Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
Thursdays 8 - 9 a.m., 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Fridays 10 - 11 a.m
The SECC reserves the right to amend the schedule at any time without notice.

Career Counselling

Day Time

Career counselling allows current U of S students and alumni to meet one-on-one with a professional career counsellor to explore issues affecting their career development. It is great service for a person having difficulty making a career decision, feeling overwhelmed and confused with their options, or struggling to maintain focus or achieve success with their career goals.

*** Please note that appointments can only be booked by the student or alumnus seeking assistance ***
