Application process and forms

Exchange application deadline for the next academic year has passed.

Application deadline for 2013-2014 academic year: February 1, 2013.

  1. Application form
  2. Budget Plan - one for each university you have listed on your application form
  3. Study Plan for each university you have listed on your application form
  4. Statement of Purpose (1-2 pages) outlining your reasons and goals for participating in the student exchange program. Include your name and student ID#.
  5. Two (2) sealed Academic References. You must get two (2) professors or course instructors to compete the reference section. These forms are must be returned to you in a separate sealed envelopes, with the instructors signature on the seal.
  6. Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. Unofficial PAWS transcripts are acceptable.
  7. Assessment of Language Proficiency if your exchange studies will be conducted in a second language, you must demostrate that you have an intermediate level of proficiency in the language of instruction. To find out what the language of instruction is at the University you are applying to, refer to Where can I go section of this website.
  8. Resume

Note: It is your responsibility to ensure all documents are included in one envelope when you submit your application. Applications with missing documents will be considered incomplete and will not be assessed.

After you submit your documents

  • After a complete application package has been handed in, students will be asked to come to an interview. Once the interview has taken place, the Study Abroad Team will make nominations.
  • After the interview, you will be notified as to the status of your application. Students nominated to participate on exchange will be sent an email with a selection memo and an 'Outbound Exchange Student Placement Acceptance Form".

Terms and Conditions

  • You must be registered as a full-time student prior to and throughout the duration of your exchange program.
  • You must not purchase airline tickets or pay for accommodation until you have received the Letter of Acceptance from your host university.
  • You are required to have a valid passport.
  • You are required to obtain any student immigration documents required by your destination country (ex. Student Visa, Study Permit etc.)
  • Your are required to have adequate supplementary health and travel insurance.
