Pre-departure Orientation

If you are a student traveling on a university approved/funded trip you must attend a pre-departure orientation session. You will be emailed session details. The pre-departure orientation is designed to help you in your personal, academic and administrative preparation for a successful trip abroad and covers important topics such as Risk management, ITR, Emergency Contact cards, dealing with culture shock and liability waivers.

You can sign up to attend a pre-departure orientation by sending an email to itr.admin@usask.ca. Please make sure your trip has been set up on ITR prior to registering and sign up at least one week before the orientation date. All upcoming sessions will be held in the ISSAC Training Room by the Global Connections Lounge in Lower Place Riel.

NOTE: These sessions are open to students who have already been selected to participate on a U of S approved and/or funded trip abroad. Special arrangements can be made for students who live and take classes outside the city of Saskatoon. Contact itr.admin@usask.ca for more information.

International Travel Registry (ITR)

The International Travel Registry (ITR) is a mandatory requirement for all students going on an exchange or an international U of S approved/funded trip. The information entered into ITR allows the university to support and prompt responses to members of the university community while out of the country in issues of emergency, safety and security. All information provided on the International Travel Registry is confidential and will only be used in emergency situations to assist U of S students.

Before you can complete the required tasks within the ITR, your ITR College Contact must submit the International Trip Set Up form (Excel spreadsheet)  to register the trip into the ITR.

You will be notified once you have registered on ITR in order to start completing your tasks. To find out how to access the ITR, contact itr.admin@usask.ca.
