Saskatoon has many community resources available to you, your family and your children. These services and programs include support with medical needs, finding a job, getting childcare, learning English, and socializing with Canadians and visitors or immigrants, among other things.
Many of these programs and services provided are free. However, for some of these programs and services you must pay a fee. Contact the agencies before you attend these programs to make sure that they are still running, especially over the summer period.
If you have any questions or need help with accessing support for your spouse or children, please contact the ISO.
This program is being offered in partnership by Saskatchewan Intercultural Association and International student Office. Participants in the ISSP Program are spouses of International students, who are now settled in Saskatchewan and wish to have some involvement in the community.
The ISSP gives participants the opportunity to practice their English skills, learn about the Canadian work force, and share knowledge, culture, and skills with others. It also provides a great opportunity to discuss the issues related to international families and living in Canada.
Classes run every week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30a.m.–12:30 p.m. The classes are on a drop-in basis; registration is needed in order to participate. Wednesdays are always ESL classes.
The program runs from September to May. Free child care and bus tickets will be provided for participants. For more information, please contact the ISSP Coordinator at 978-1818 Ext: 16.
