Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Did you do well in your classes? Consider applying for scholarships.

Nutrien Engineering Entrance Scholarship

Value$5,000, renewable once for a total potential award of $10,000
Number offered2. One award of $5,000, renewable once, for a potential total award of $10,000 for Indigenous students. One award of $5,000, for a potential total award of $10,000 for students who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous or Person of Colour), or LGBTQ2S+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, or Two-Spirited).
EligibilityCandidates must be Indigenous, BIPOC or LGBTQ2S+ and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and be entering their first year of study.

Candidates must submit a one page letter detailing:
  • What inspired their decision to study engineering
  • How their journey into engineering could be different as a minority group member
  • How their diverse experiences could be an advantage as a professional engineering
  • The impact they hope to have as an engineer
  • Any interest in working in the mining industry.
Selection CriteriaSelection will be based on the merits of the submitted letter.

Candidates must submit a letter attesting to their leadership qualities, community involvement, and extracurricular activities. Candidates must also submit verification of Aboriginal ancestry.
