University tuition and fees are subject to review and revision at any time by the Provost Committee on Integrated Planning and/or the Board of Governors of the University.

Degree Programs

Canadian student tuition for degree programs is assessed on a per credit unit basis. Each class you take will fall into one of 6 tuition categories.

- For Geological Engineering: CE 271, GEOE 378

Computer Science Professional Internship placements are assessed on a per course basis.
Engineering Professional Internship placements are assessed on a per course basis.

Geography, Land Use & Environmental Studies and Regional & Urban Development Co-operative placements are assessed on a per course basis.
Tuition for Nursing courses in the Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS) which are taken at SIAST are assessed at the NURS rate, but are assessed by and payable to SIAST. NURS classes in the Post Registration program will be assessed an additional $50 in tuition.
The Toxicology undergraduate program is a unique interdisciplinary program and, as such, the core courses are assessed tuition at a higher rate than traditional science courses.
Students enrolled in ACB 215 are assessed a program fee; ACB 490 is tuition exempt.
ART 495 is tuition exempt.
Students enrolled in BIOC 213 are assessed a program fee; BIOC 490 is tuition exempt.
CHEM 402 is tuition exempt.
COMM 109, 110, 112, 115 and 209 are tuition exempt; COMM 380 and 480 are assessed as tuition code 1.
EP 414 is tuition exempt.
FAMD 502 and 503 are assessed a program fee.
FREN 261, 262, 263 & 400 are tuition exempt.
GE 430 is tuition exempt.
HIST 494 is tuition exempt.
IS 403 is tuition exempt.
Students enrolled in ITDL 405 are assessed a program fee.
LAW 243 is tuition exempt.
MATH 401 is tuition exempt.
MCIM 490 is tuition exempt.
All MED courses except MED 503 & 504 are assessed a program fee; MED 100, 101, 200 & 300 are tuition exempt.
The following MUAP courses are tuition exempt: 120, 121, 122, 123, 128, 130, 132, 220, 221, 222, 223, 228, 230, 232, 300, 320, 321, 322, 323, 328, 330, 332, 400, 420, 421, 422, 423, 428, 430 & 432.

Students enrolled in the following VSAC courses are assessed a program fee: 205, 356, 357, 358, 362, 376, 431, 433, 435, 437, 439, 441, 443, 445, 449 & 475.

Tuition for the Diploma in Agriculture program is assessed on a per credit weight basis, calculated at .5 x the cost per credit unit in each category.

International Students

International undergraduate students are assessed tuition at 2.6 times the rate for Canadian students, except for those in distance education certificate programs which are assessed at 1.5 times the rate for Canadian students.

International Undergraduate Tuition & Fees

Senior Citizens

Tuition for some courses may be waived for persons 65 years of age and over who enroll on a part-time basis. The waiver applies to tuition only and students are responsible for any materials fees, laboratory fees, student fees and other class costs. The waiver extends to registration as an audit or credit student.In order to qualify for the waiver, students must submit proof of age and reach age 65 by the date the class starts.The waiver does not apply to classes which are filled with students paying tuition, internships or co-op work placements, exchange programs, classes which are held outside Canada, graduate courses, thesis or project supervision or maintenance of status for graduate students, non-credit courses (including non-degree certificate programs), distance education degree courses where instructors are paid on a per student basis, courses offered as part of a contract, or programs where tuition is assessed on a program basis.

Outbound Exchange Students

Outbound exchange students are assessed tuition at the rate of 15 credit units at category 1 per 4 month period of study.

Student Fees

Student fees are non-refundable after the add/drop deadline for a given term. For multi-term classes (classes extending over two terms), students fees are non-refundable after the add/drop deadline of the first term in which the class is offered.

Full-time on-campus

Full-time on-campus students are registered in 9 or more credit units per term during the Fall and Winter Terms. During the Spring and Summer Terms, full-time on-campus students are registered in 2 or more credit units per quarter.
