China - Canada Learning Initiative in China (Course availability to be confirmed for 2020)

All U of S students participating in CLIC summer programs will receive a monthly stipend, a scholarship to help pay for their flights, subsidized accommodation in China and a free medical insurance.

 


Japan - Kansai Gaidai University

June 8 – July 17, 2020

Experience Japan in the summer is a 6-week program offered by the Asian Studies Program at Kansai Gaidai University. It offers invaluable experiences to those students who are interested in learning Japanese language and selected topics in Asian Studies.


Singapore - Nanyang Technological University

Germany - Otto Beisheim School of Management

The WHU Bachelor European Summer Program offers a three-week course on 'The Business, Political and Cultural Environment in Europe' for Bachelor students of WHU's partner schools on the attractive campus in Vallendar located just outside of Koblenz in the valley of the Rhine River.



Germany – Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt)

May  – August , 2020

Check out two programs offered by TU Darmstadt in the summer:

  • The International Research Experience Program (IREP) offers research projects all within varying fields of the Humanities, Natural Sciences and Engineering. Credits vary per project.
  • The International Summer University introduces students to different areas of research in engineering. In addition, intensive language courses and intercultural trainings are offered within the framework of the summer university.

 


Germany - University of Oldenburg

July 22 – August 19, 2020

Language of Instruction: English and German

This course is taught by an experienced and professional teacher for students with no prior knowledge of German. A maximum of 20 students will be admitted. The course covers 100 hours and focuses on the standard use of spoken and written German and on central issues of modern German society. Attention is paid to developing all four skills: speaking, reading, listening and writing.

Founded in 2015, the TU Berlin Summer and Winter University offers innovative courses such as Virtual Reality and Excercise Gaming, Fairness in Artificial Intelligence, 3D Scanning and Printing, and Production of Noise and Sound Design and Entrepreneurship – among others!

 

Finland - University of Helsinki

Helsinki Summer School offers courses that cover a wide range of academic fields and multidisciplinary topics including Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.



Finland - Haaga-Helia

Haaga-Helia's summer school is focused on Entrepreneurship and Leadership and Management. You can choose student in one to the two Sessions (2 weeks) or in both of the Sessions (4 weeks)

 


Finland - Metropolia University ICT Summer School

The international ICT Summer School is held every year in August. It gives you an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge on different areas of information and communication technology, and at the same time explore Finalnd, meet new people and expand your network internationally.

 


Iceland - Bifröst University

July 18 – August 8, 2020
Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
Language of Instruction: English

Bifröst University is located in the Nature paradise of Bifrost Village in West Iceland, right between a volcano and glacier. This year, only one course will be offered, “Sustainable Leadership in the 21st Century”. Students are accommodated in comfortable en-suite single rooms at the program’s beautiful campus on the shore of Lake Hreðarvatn. There are natural wonders in a walking distance and students rae surrounded by glaciers, volcanoes, midnight sun, waterfalls, and unspoiled nature.

Sweden – Jönköping University

Students will have the opportunity to obtain credits and participate in social and cultural activities to discover and learn about Sweden and the Swedish culture. 

France – MICEFA Summer Program

June 29 – July 30, 2020
Level: Undergraduate and Graduate
Language of Instruction: French

Go to Paris and participate in MICEFA’s 4-week summer session in Language and Culture. This program offers courses in collaboration with the Institut Catholique de Paris as well as cultural activities throughout the month and housing at the historic Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris or with a homestay family.

 

France – NEOMA Business School

June 22 – July 10, 2020

Language of Instruction: English

This three-week programme provides an introduction into the sport-business in France. theory is aligned with major sporting events, industry examples and case studies from the sport industry.

 


Netherlands - VU Amsterdam

During July and August VU Amsterdam offers 2 sessions of 2-week courses. Sessions can be combined to create a 4 week programme. Courses include topics relevant to psychology, business, history, political studies, environmental studies.

 


United Kingdom – Birmingham International Summer School

The Birmingham International Summer School has been designed to offer you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of another country and to study in one of the most diverse cities in the UK. The 2020 Summer School is ideal for students based overseas who would like to experience studying abroad for a short period.

 


United Kingdom – University of Liverpool

Process

  1. Apply here to determine if the summer program of your choice is a good academic fit for you.

  2. Meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss transfer credit

  3. If your application is approved, an Academic Advisor will confirm whether or not transfer credit will be granted

  4. Apply for funding

  5. Participate in a mandatory pre-departure session (risk & safety, destination specific information, resources for questions regarding immigration)

  6. Use this checklist to stay on track!
