Australia – Queensland University

Take part in the Summer program at Queensland University and choose from three programs offered during the summer period:

China - Hong Kong Baptist University

July 2 - August 1, 2019

Over 30 courses will be offered in the areas of Business, Communication, Economics, English, Film, Finance, History, Journalism, Marketing, Religion, Science and Sociology. (Max 6 credits)



China - Canada Learning Initiative in China

June – July, 2019

Canada Learning Initiative in China offers several heavily subsidized summer programs such as

  • Harbin Intensive Language Program, July 2-27, 2019 in Harbin
  • Chinese Archeology, June 19 – July 19, 2019 in Jinan
  • Doing Business in China and China’s Economic Development, July 2-27, 2019 in Tianjin
  • Entrepreneurship in China, June 14 – August 17, 2019 in Hangzhou
  • International Development: Education, May 27 - June 24, 2019 in Shanghai
  • Language, Art, and Culture Program, July 1 – July 31, 2019 in Jinan

All U of S students participating in CLIC summer programs will receive a monthly stipend, a scholarship to help pay for their flights, free accommodation in China and a free medical insurance.

 


Japan - Kansai Gaidai University

June 10 – July 19, 2019

Experience Japan in the summer is a 6-week program offered by the Asian Studies Program at Kansai Gaidai University. It offers invaluable experiences to those students who are interested in learning Japanese language and selected topics in Asian Studies.


Singapore - Nanyang Technological University

Germany - Hessen International Summer University

Germany – International Research Experience Program at Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt)

May 20 – August 9, 2019

The International Research Experience Program (IREP) offers 86 research projects all within varying fields of the Humanities, Natural Sciences and Engineering. Credits vary per project.

 


Germany - University of Oldenburg

July 17 – August 14, 2019
Level: Undergraduate and Graduate
Language of Instruction: English and German

Attend the University of Oldenburg Summer Program to learn the German language and culture. The course is designed for students studying German at a level of A2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). This translates roughly into the level of second-year/second-year plus German students. Applicants should have attended 200–350 German lessons before the start of the Summer Course.

Founded in 2015, the TU Berlin Summer and Winter University offers innovative courses such as Satellite Design, Robotics, 3D Scanning and Printing, and Entrepreneurship – among others!

 

Finland - University of Helsinki

Helsinki Summer School offers courses that cover a wide range of academic fields and multidisciplinary topics including Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.



Finland - Haaga-Helia

July 22 - August 16. 2019

Haaga-Helia's summer school is focused on Service, Sales and Entrepreneurship and is great for all students interested! 

 


Iceland - Bifröst University

July 13 – August 3, 2019
Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
Language of Instruction: English

Bifröst University is located in the Nature paradise of Bifrost Village in West Iceland, right between a volcano and glacier. This year, only one course will be offered, “Sustainable Leadership in the 21st Century”. Students are accommodated in comfortable en-suite single rooms at the program’s beautiful campus on the shore of Lake Hreðarvatn. There are natural wonders in a walking distance and students rae surrounded by glaciers, volcanoes, midnight sun, waterfalls, and unspoiled nature.

 


Norway - University of Oslo

June 22 - August 2. 2019

Study in Norway over the summer. Choose from a diverse course list addressing many disciplines from a Norweigian lens, such as history, politics, architechture and design, gender studies and much more!

 


Sweden – Jönköping University

Courses offered:

- Puchasing Logistics with a Global Perspective

- Global Perspective on Health and Welfare

 

Students will have the opportunity to obtain credits and participate in social and cultural activities to discover and learn about Sweden and the Swedish culture. In addition the programme includes visits to companies and to organizations related to the courses, examples of such are IKEA & Husqvarna in the area of logistics and Companion & Integrera Mera in the area of health and welfare. They will benefit from a term abroad during their summer break with the possibility to gain valuable international experience and credits.

 


Belgium - Ghent University

June 17 - July 6, 2019
Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
Language of Instruction: English

Participate in a unique program offered by the University of LaSalle and Ghent University. This program is an intensive interdisciplinary program that combines nutrition, health sciences, food science, food technology, and includes culinary practive lab sessions and a practice beer brewing lab.


 

France – MICEFA Summer Program

July 1 – 31, 2019
Level: Undergraduate and Graduate
Language of Instruction: French

Go to Paris and participate in MICEFA’s 4-week summer session in Language and Culture. This program offers courses in collaboration with the Institut Catholique de Paris as well as cultural activities throughout the month and housing at the historic Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris or with a homestay family.

 


Netherlands - VU Amsterdam

During July and August VU Amsterdam offers 3 sessions of 2-week courses. Sessions can be combined to create a 4 or 6-week programme. Courses include topics relevant to psychology, business, history, political studies, environmental studies.

 


United Kingdom – Birmingham International Summer School

The Birmingham International Summer School has been designed to offer you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of another country and to study in one of the most diverse cities in the UK. The 2019 Summer School is ideal for students based overseas who would like to experience studying abroad for a short period.

 


United Kingdom – University of Liverpool

Process

  1. Apply here to determine if the summer program of your choice is a good academic fit for you.

  2. Meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss transfer credit

  3. If your application is approved, an Academic Advisor will confirm whether or not transfer credit will be granted

  4. Apply for funding

  5. Participate in a mandatory pre-departure session (risk & safety, destination specific information, resources for questions regarding immigration)

  6. Use this checklist to stay on track!
