Honorary award recipients - In addition to awarding thousands of degrees to students, a number of honorary degrees and awards will be presented to deserving individuals.

Orators - Orators were selected through an audition process to read out the names of degree recipients as they receive their parchments.

Tickets are required to attend the ceremony.  Each graduate can order up to 4 guest tickets beginning on April 11 at 12:00pm through the Convocation Information Channel in PAWS.   The deadline to order tickets is May 2.

Extra tickets may be available and are given out on a first come, first serve basis starting May 10 at 12:00pm through the Convocation Information Channel in PAWS.  The deadline to try for extra tickets is May 31.

Graduates or guests with disabilities: if you did not indicate when ordering tickets about your or a guests required accommodations or special arrangements contact convocation@usask.ca or phone 306-966-6735.

If your guests require an invitation letter to secure travel documents, information on how to write an inivtation letter can be found in the "inviting friends and family" and the IRCC guide. If you have question please contact convocation@usask.ca

Convocation is a public event where photographs will be taken and the ceremonies will be streamed live on the internet.  By attending convocation, you are giving the University of Saskatchewan permission to use any photos or other media in future promotional materials, programs, websites, etc.


Gowns will be available to order beginning on April 11, 2018 at noon and will close on May 18. If you forget to rent a gown, you may rent one on location at TCU Place prior to your ceremony. Graduands who attend the Convocation ceremony are required to wear proper academic dress. Graduands must obtain the hood for the degree they are receiving, not for a degree they may already hold. Be sure to obtain a gown and hood prior to the time of assembly. Gowns and hoods are available on a non-refundable rental basis.

Outstanding Fees

Graduands should immediately settle all financial responsibilities with the University. 

Students who have holds on his/her account pertaining to the degree they are graduating with will be allowed to graduate and attend the Convocation ceremony, but will not receive the parchment or any other official documentation of the degree, receive transcripts or be eligible to reregister until the account is cleared.  The deadline to clear overdue accounts so that you may receive your parchment at the convocation ceremony is May 4, 2018.


Undergraduate graduands who have accumulated transfer credits from another post-secondary institution to satisfy the requirements for their program, but have not yet prearranged for an official transcript confirming these credits to be sent to the University of Saskatchewan, must arrange to have an official transcript faxed directly from the issuing institution to Admissions at (306) 966-2115, by May 11, 2018 to be eligible for graduation. 

Students who send a fax by the above deadline must then arrange to have the original official transcript mailed directly from the issuing institution to Admissions at the University of Saskatchewan, to be received by May 17, 2018 in order to receive their degree at spring convocation.

Degree Frames

Four ways to purchase your degree frame:

  1. Online for delivery: Purchase online any time for delivery directly to your home.
  2. Purchase online for pickup at convocation.
  3. In person at TCU Place: Purchase your frame onsite at TCU Place from June 4-7, 2018, after each ceremony. Inventory may be limited.
  4. In Person, year-round: Purchase a frame at Shop usask Preston Crossing or Shop usask Bookstore all year round.

Graduation Flowers

Fresh roses will be available for purchase at TCU Place from June 4-7. To reserve a bouquet, order online and pick it up when you get to TCU Place.


The Convocation Office will be coordinating graduation photography through Grad Images Photography.  A photo will be taken of you when you receive your degree at convocation.  Proofs will be sent to your PAWS account email a few weeks after convocation, where you will have the opportunity to purchase your photos.

Some colleges arrange formal graduation photos through the student unions.  Contact the student union in your college to find out more information.
