Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Canada 150 Outbound Undergraduate Scholarships

Value$3,000
Number offeredTwelve Awards of $3,000 each. Four awards willl be for travel in the spring/summer of 2017; four will be for travel in Term 1 of the 2017-2018 academic year and four will be for travel for Term 2 of the 2017-2018 academic year.
Eligibility

Open to continuing fulltime undergraduate students in degree programs who have completed at least one year of study at the University of Saskatchewan. To be eligible, applicants must: 1) Will participate in a study abroad program/course, research or other academic activity outside of Canada in the 2017-2018 academic year; 2) Submit a cover letter stating how their planned travel award is related to the Canada 150 themes/key areas and how study abroad would benefit them academically; 3) Have travel that is a minimum of two weeks in duration to a maximum duration of one academic year; 4) Submit a letter of support from a faculty or staff member in their college; 5) Submit a copy of a U of S transcript (unofficial).
Selection CriteriaAcademic achievement and the merits of the submitted statement, as determined by the Award Committee. Preference will be given to students who have not studied abroad before with the University of Saskatchewan.
