Message from the dean

To recognize and celebrate the Edwards School of Business fall 2020 graduates, Dr. Keith Willoughby (PhD) recorded the graduation video above. A written version of his address is below.


Edwards School of Business

Fall 2020 graduates. Congratulations.

My name is Keith Willoughby and I have the privilege of serving as the Dean of your Edwards School of Business and a professor in Operations Management.

I congratulate every single one of you for your accomplishments in perseverance and excellence. Thank you for your dedication, for your contributions of time and talent, and for building the expertise that will serve you so very well in the rest of your careers.

The mission of the Edwards School of Business is to develop business professionals to build nations. As a nation builder, you are now part of a prestigious group of business leaders and entrepreneurs, over 27,000 strong and growing worldwide. The skills you have gained will provide you with career opportunities for the rest of your life.

I encourage you to continue to pursue excellence. Your faculty and the staff here at the Edwards School of Business, join in thanking you and acknowledging you for the tremendous work that you have done.

I often use the phrase, “No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” This is a true embodiment of how we should conduct ourselves in our lives. Graduates, as you go out into the world around you, I encourage you to be kind, to be considerate, and use your skills for the betterment of society.
