Indigenous Cultural Coordinator, Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student CentreRebecca Tootoosis is a proud Nêhiyaw Iskwew (Cree woman) from Saddle Lake Cree Nation. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a graduate of the Edwards School of Business, where she developed strong leadership, coordination, and relationship-building skills that guide her work today. Rebecca serves as the Indigenous Cultural Coordinator at the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre, supporting Indigenous students through programming, cultural engagement, and student advocacy. She is passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces where students can build community and explore their strengths. Rooted in her values and identity, Rebecca continues to reconnect with her cultural teachings. She participates in ceremonies, learns from Knowledge Keepers and Elders, and integrates these teachings into her personal life and the work she does with students. A strong advocate for lifelong learning, Lori is committed to her own professional development and actively pursues opportunities to stay at the forefront of best practices and industry trends.
