Safety

The University of Saskatchewan has in-person and virtual safewalk volunteers, as well as protective services, to ensure those on-campus safely reach their destination. Students may also download the USAFE app for various safety tools and resources.

Homestay for international students

International students can also apply to live with a local family in Saskatoon through the Canada Homestay Network. Homestay placements are available for both USask Language Centre students and international students seeking degrees from the University of Saskatchewan.

Residence

Students living in residence receive continuous support (both personal and academic) and appreciate the comfort, security and convenience of living close to classes and university facilities

Live on campus in one of many styles of accommodation. Options available for families, graduate students, and students with disabilities.

Childcare

The USSU Childcare Centre and Campus Daycare are on-campus childcare options. There are also off-campus options.

Public transit and parking

Saskatoon Transit is Saskatoon's public bus transportation service provider. For information about university routes, schedules and fares, visit Saskatoon Transit. Learn more about Saskatoon Transit's on-demand transit services.

You can store your bike on the racks attached to the front of all Saskatoon Transit busses.

U-Pass

The U-Pass is a Saskatoon Transit bus pass that can be activated in PAWS and used with your smart phone.

Bicycle safety

Whether you’re the one cycling or behind the wheel of a vehicle, here are some important reminders:

Cyclists:

  • Check your breaks, bell and reflective gear before riding
  • Be aware of your surroundings and obey traffic controls

Drivers:

  • Share the road and ensure one meter of space between vehicle and bike when passing

Student groups

With over 150 campus groups, clubs and other student organizations it's easy to find a group of people with common interests. Joining a group is extremely easy and is a great way to meet like-minded people, make a difference, and/or obtain professional development.

While on the Saskatoon campus, you will have the opportunity to eat at a variety of locations, from fast food to buffets to fresh food markets—and some locations offer discounted meal plan options. 

The University of Saskatchewan Students' Union Food Centre offers programming to address student hunger, including emergency food hampers.
