
Teagan Pooyak
Career Peer EducatorTeagan is a Cree and Stoney Nakoda woman from Sweetgrass First Nation on Treaty 6 Territory. She is a second-year Sociology student at the University of Saskatchewan, concentrating in Justice and Criminology and pursuing a Certificate in Indigenous Governance and Politics. As a pre-law student, she is passionate about supporting her peers in building confidence through career tools such as resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, interview preparation, and LinkedIn.
Alongside her role with Career Services, Teagan is deeply engaged in work that advances Indigenous rights and quality of life, both on campus and in the community. On campus, she serves in the Indigenous Students' Union as part of the Community Engagement portfolio, creating spaces that foster culture, connection, and empowerment, and also volunteers on Saskatoon's Indigenous Women's Advisory Circle. Her long-term goal is to pursue a career in law specializing in Indigenous rights, with a focus on sovereignty, land, and justice for Indigenous communities.
