Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Shirley Hewko-Parkinson Memorial Award in Nursing

Value: $6,000 (minimum)
Number offered: 1
Eligibility: Open to continuing undergraduate students in the College of Nursing.

To be eligible, candidates must:
  • Have graduated from a high school within the boundaries described in 2018 as the "Heartland Health Region". If there are no eligible applicants from the Heartland Health Region, applicants from other Saskatchewan rural communities will be considered.
  • Submit a statement of no more than two pages detailing how their leadership in qualities related to community health will be enhanced by becoming a Registered Nurse, and how they plan to work in and improve the health of rural communities.
  • Submit a letter of support from a College of Nursing faculty member or instructor, or a community supervisor/ leader.
Selection criteria: Financial need and merits of the submitted statements
