Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Washchyshyn Entrepreneurship Award in Engineering

Value: $2,500
Number offered: Two
Eligibility: Open to 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students in a College of Engineering degree program. To be eligible, students must
  • Be full-time students
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Submit a written statement of no more than 500 words in which applicants capture:
    • Self declared Ukrainian descent, if applicable
    • Entrepreneurial interests, product or design ideas they hope to pursue in engineering
    • Their dedication to the profession, community, volunteerism or philanthropy.

Students must not receive another major award.
Selection criteria: Selection will be based upon the merits of the written statement, as determined by the Award Committee, as captured below:
  • Enthusiasm and excitement to pursue entrepreneurial path through engineering (50%)
  • Demonstrating values shared by Myron Washchyshyn, including giving back, community service, volunteerism, and enhancing quality of life for others (50%).
