Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Medicine Chest Award in Indigenous Virtual Health

Value: $1,500. The recipient is expected to use these monies to cover travel costs for mentored experiences in remote and rural communities in Saskatchewan.
Number offered: 1
Eligibility: Open to medical students in their third or fourth year at the College of Medicine. To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Demonstrate an interest in Indigenous health, virtual care or AI, interprofessional practice, and decreasing the barriers to health care access for vulnerable populations. This may be demonstrated by completion of additional learning opportunities/ electives and/or leadership activities in these areas.
  • Provide a statement of no more than two pages that demonstrates a specific interest in Indigenous Health in the province of Saskatchewan and presents potential strategies for transformation of the health care system to support improved health equity.
Selection criteria: Based on academic achievement and the merits of the submitted statements.
