Trista Robinson BSW, RSW (SK) (she/her/hers)
Trista has a Bachelor of Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers and recently started working towards a Masters of Social Work degree. Since July 2022, she has been working as an Assessor Coordinator with the USask Student Wellness Centre and is so grateful to be a part of a team that cares so deeply for students. Trista has worked within the fields of primary health/child development, mental health and addictions, and community outreach roles. Trista embraces creativity (for fun and for wellness), relationships and connectivity, and strives to foster an inclusive environment for students, recognizing intersecting identities and experiences. Her personal and professional experiences are guided and informed by anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and feminist principles and she is always thinking about power, relationship, and how systems can support or harm people’s abilities to heal and connect. She recognizes how creative healing practices offer space to move beyond narrow definitions of care, and to honour the cultural, artistic, and embodied ways that people already know how to heal.
'Roads to Wellness' was created by the Student Wellness Centre to offer opportunities for wellness and healing to university students and staff in group experiences facilitated by Mental Health Clinicians, Educators, and Counsellors who offer a variety of expressive and somatic techniques. We aim to expand our reach so that students and/or staff/faculty have an experiential gathering time, feel a sense of connection and community, and have broader access to mental wellness services. Guided activities, including expressive making, music, and movement are the core of our programming. Please join us to... EXPERIENCE. CONNECT. CREATE.
