In order to work in Canada on your study permit, international students will also require a Social Insurance Number. The social insurance number is your unique ID number with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for taxation purposes.
During the Winter 2025 welcome period, Service Canada will be on the USask campus to administer SINs for international students.
To receive your SIN from Service Canada, students will require the following documents:
- Passport
- Study permit with on/off campus work conditions
