Please join us on February 25 at 7:00 pm for our PA Campus book club for Black History Month where we will discuss Angie Thomas’s powerful young adult novel The Hate U Give. This powerful novel follows Starr Carter, a 16-year-old Black girl who witnesses the police shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil. As the community erupts in protests and media scrutiny intensifies, Starr is torn between her predominantly Black neighborhood and her mostly white private school, grappling with her identity and the impact of racial injustice. This powerful novel explores themes of systemic racism, privilege, and the courage it takes to speak out in the face of adversity.
