Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

The Internal Medicine Achievement Awards

Value: $2,500 minimum
Number offered: Up to 2
Eligibility: Open to graduating medical students enrolled in the Internal Medicine Modules including courses and rotation.
Selection criteria: One award will be made to the student with the best combined grades in the Internal Medicine Module of the Clinical Skills II,III, & IV and the Foundations I, II, and III combined, or equivalent in current curriculum who is also matched to an IM residency at the University of Saskatchewan, and one award to a student with the best overall combined grades in the above criteria regardless of residency type or placement, as determined by the Award Committee. If in any given year, the student with the top performance overall in the Internal Medicine module is also matched to IM residency at the U of S, the student will receive the entire award value with a minimum value of $5,000.
