Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Did you do well in your classes? Consider applying for scholarships.

Stan Nakrayko Engineering Extracurricular Student Group Project Support Fund

Value: Up to $8,000
Number offered: 1
Eligibility: This award is to provide financial support to student groups to assist with the building of prototypes in preparation for competitions. The fund is dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation for Engineering students An individual submitting a proposal on an award application can submit that proposal on behalf of a larger group.

As part of an application for this award, student groups must provide:
  • An overview of the project
  • A budget
  • A brief explanation of how the funds will be used
  • An explanation of the reach of the project (ie. Will this prototype be used in international competitions, participating in a show case, etc.)
  • An overview of mechanical component design
Preference will be given to projects submitted by student groups ratified by the University of Saskatchewan Students' Union (USSU) that involve the design and/or fabrication of prototypes featuring mechanical aspects or components. The student groups should be closely associated with the College of Engineering.
Selection criteria: Based on the merits of the submitted proposal.
