Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Keegan Bursary for a Career in Psychiatric or Family Medicine

Value: $1,500
Number offered: One
Eligibility: Open to 4th year students in the MD program at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine. To be eligible, applicants must:
  • demonstrate financial need
  • Submit a one-two page statement detailing their desire to apply for psychiatry or family medicine with hopes of practicing their specialty in Saskatchewan. In their statement, the student will have a patient and family centered focus in their future practice.
  • Submit a letter of reference from a professor, mentor, or faculty member that can attest to their personal attributes of empathy, compassion, and ability to collaborate with professional colleagues for good of their patients and families.
Selection criteria: Financial need and merits of the submitted statement.
