Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Did you do well in your classes? Consider applying for scholarships.

Roger Charest, Sr. Award for Broadcast & Media Arts

Value: $500
Eligibility: This award is available annually to any qualified applicant (individual or group) who has taken the initiative to create a special program or series which may later be suitable for bradcast, and may further the cause of multiculturalism in Canada. The final product may provide a window into the particular characteristics and unique qualities of a given identifiable group within the Canadian cultural mosaic, so that we, as Canadians may better understand one another.

Works in the developmental or scripting stage, and/or completed works will be considered.
Donor: Established through Ethnic FM CKER Radion (now WORLD FM), on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in November 2000. This award has been anmed after the founder of CKER Radio in Edmonton, Roger Charest, Sr., a long-time broadcaster, radio personality and visionary, whose perseverance and dedication to his community have fostered the creation of a truly multicultural environment at CKER.
Apply: Applicants must submit a written propsal (in English) outlining the intended project, including possible braodcast or electronic media applications, or outlets to be used for distribution of the final product. A budget is required with the application.

Limit of one submission per applicant. If a particular project/proposal was previously submitted and chosen as an award recipient, that project is not eligible to re-apply.
