Participate in Narrative Therapy sessions presented by the Student Wellness Centre.

These sessions will provide a safe and inviting space where you will learn vital coping skills to help empower your academic success and enhance your mental health and wellness with effective strategies.

Wednesdays from Oct. 16-Dec. 4 from 2 to 3:30 pm at the International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSC).

  • Session 1: Introduction & Roots (October 16)
    The Root component represents international students' backgrounds, encompassing their family's journey to a new country, origins, family name and ancestral heritage.
  • Session 2: Ground (October 23)
    The Ground component symbolizes their current living situation in a foreign land.
  • Session 3: Trunk (October 30)
    The Trunk represents the strengths and talents international students have honed while acclimatizing to a new culture.
  • Session 4: Branches (November 6)
    Branches encapsulate the hopes, dreams, and aspirations international students harbour throughout their international expeditions.
  • Session 5: Leaves (November 13)
    Leaves signify the pivotal individuals in their international odyssey who have bestowed unwavering support, affection, and encouragement.
  • Session 6: Fruits (November 20)
    Fruits are a testament to the bountiful gifts international students have received from their international sojourns.
  • Session 7: Outsider witnessing & storms( November 27)
    Goal is to foster empathy and understanding by having participants share their stories, allowing for a deeper connection within the group.
  • Session 8: Celebrations (December 4)
    Celebration of growth and achievements

The program comprises eight sessions, each meticulously tailored around a specific aspect of the Tree of Life framework. 

Students who attend six or more sessions will receive credit on their Co-Curricular Record.
