U of S Faculty Association (USFA) Scholarship Fund

Value: Varies (Details outlined below)
Number offered: Varies (Details outlined below)
Eligibility: Open to students who are immediate family members of Regular or Non-Voluntary members of the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association (USFA). For confirmation of membership please contact USFA directly. Immediate family is defined as spouse or partner; sons, daughters or children for whom USFA members have served as legal guardians.

To be eligible, recipients must have successfully completed (received a mark of 50% or greater) one or more University of Saskatchewan courses towards a degree program and have a sessional weighted average of at least 65%.

The number and value of awards will depend on the financial resources available, the number of credit units, or assigned credit units, taken by applicants and the number of applications. To determine the number and value the following steps will be taken:
  • The total number of credit units successfully completed by eligible undergraduate applicants is calculated along with the assignment of 15 or 30 credit units (part-time or full-time respectively) to graduate students. The total credit units is then the sum of the credit units successfully completed (undergraduate students) and the assigned credit units (graduate students).
  • The financial resources available is then divided by the total number of credit units to determine the award value per credit unit.
  • Applicants will receive a total award value based on the number of credit units successfully completed or assigned multiplied by the award value per credit unit to a maximum award value equal to the tuition cost for 30 credit units (Category One) of undergraduate courses.
  • Graduate students will be subject to the same maximum award value, but may not receive an award value larger than their assessed tuition for the terms of the award year, in which they were a student.
  • Each individual recipient will be limited to a total lifetime maximum of monies received from this Fund. The maximum will be equal to the tuition cost for 120 credit units (Category One) of undergraduate courses, for the year in which the applicant will reach the maximum.
