Moss Bag Project Award for Indigenous Parents

Eligibility: Open to Indigenous students in their second or third year of graduate studies (Master's or PhD) in the College of Education. To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be studying in a program with research or program themes of human rights, law, anti-racism, and environmental justice.
  • Have dependent children.
  • Confirm Indigenous citizenship/membership based on concurrent university policies.
  • Provide a letter of reference written by an Elder or community member describing community connection.
  • Provide a written statement describing why they should be selected for this scholarship. The statement should focus on community relationship and reciprocity, which includes but is not limited to, research plans, career goals, and community service. The statement should also attest to dependent children and/or grandchildren who live under their care.
Selection criteria: Based on the merits of the submitted statements.
