Come explore “The Art of Mindfulness and Metaphors: Mind-Body Connection to feel Centered and Grounded”
In this personal empowerment session, we will create with a variety of materials and explore metaphors as symbols of centeredness and groundedness. Principles of mindfulness will be woven into our time together. We will experience the benefits of both metaphors and mindfulness and bring these tools into the unfolding year ahead!
Sonal Kavia, MEd
Founder, Centered in Peace Coaching & Consulting
Sonal is a consultant and speaker who facilitates personal professional development of students, educators, and leaders in school and health systems. Her work is based on cultivating deep relational presence through awareness-based teaching and embodied learning experiences. Her master’s research thesis explored teacher and youth identity, belonging, and well-being to foster compassionate culture. Sonal’s vision sees steadiness, joy, and holistic health for all. After teaching in her own classroom for several years, she has shared strategies for well-being in K-12 schools, collaborated in university initiatives, and worked closely with non-profit organizations. Sonal is a leadership coach and a certified facilitator of trauma-sensitive mindfulness meditation and yoga. Her leadership studies include training with Margaret Wheatley, Presencing Institute, and David Whyte, and Demers Group.
