This group is for those who:

  • are addressing an eating disorder, chronic dieting, or an unhealthy relationship with food and their body
  • want to improve their relationship with food and body
  • want to embrace self-compassion and decrease the influence of diet culture

 Free for all registered U of S students and gender inclusive. 

 Dates and times: Thursdays from 2-3:30 pm at the Student Wellness Centre, Rm 321 Place Riel Student Centre

  • Oct 24 - Session 1: Setting the Stage - Welcome, introductions, and paving the way with our lanterns.
  • Oct 31 - Session 2: Getting Into It - Introduction to body trust, and “normal eating” (notice the quotations).
  • Nov 7 - Session 3: Continuing the Journey - Increasing awareness of your inner critic and learn how to practice mindful acceptance.
  • Nov 14 - No session
  • Nov 21 - Session 4: Empowering and Activating - Smashing scales, deleting apps, and taking your power back.
  • Nov 28 - Session 5: Settling In and Cozying Up - “Embrace” documentary screening, complete with discussion, reflection, and SNACKS
  • Dec 5 - Session 6: Wrapping Up - Setting boundaries, navigating diet culture, and revamping your social media.

Each session includes education components, activities, videos, and opportunities to share and discuss. Those who participate in this group will receive a FREE book (Christy Harrison’s “Anti-Diet”) at the end of the sessions.

Pre-screening meetings to ensure that the group meets your needs will take place on October 16 and 17 from 2-3:30 pm for about 15 minutes each.
