Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

RBC Skill Development Recognition Award

Value: $1,500
Number offered: 1
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and graduate students in degree and diploma programs at the University of Saskatchewan who have completed an experiential learning or skills development opportunity. This includes but is not limited to Riipen Level Up, FUSION, SURE, ESB Coop, FYRE, Engineering Coop, Computer Science Internship, AGRC 445.3, KIN 498.3, USask Connects, and/or co-curricular record activities where there was demonstrated skill development. Summer, part-time, or volunteer work experiences where a student feels they developed their skills will be accepted. A reference letter validating the student’s skill development may be required.

To be eligible, students must submit a 2-4 minute video or a 750-1000 word written testimonial, demonstrating their commitment to developing and applying 21st-century career readiness skills for a rapidly evolving job market though participation in experiential learning or skill development opportunities. Students are asked to speak to how they actively participated in experiential and skill development opportunities, how they made conscious efforts to apply what they learned to grow their career readiness skills and reflect on how they have grown/ developed personally and/or professionally. A reference letter validating a student’s skill development may be required.
Selection criteria: Based on the merits of the submitted video or testimonial.
