Bursaries
October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships
June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

| Eligibility | Open to Environmental Biology, Environment and Society, Environmental Earth Sciences, Hydrology, and Geography majors who have completed at least two years of study in an undergraduate degree program, and who are members of the Environmental Studies Student Association (ESSA). |
| Selection Criteria | Financial need, academic achievement, and participation in organizations and activities that focus on environmental and ecological concerns. |
| Donor | Environmental Studies Student Association, friends, and current and former students of John McConnell. |
| Apply | Complete the John McConnell Bursary application and submit a summary of involvement in organizations and activities with an environmental focus, along with a letter or recommendation to Administrative Support Group in the College of Arts of Science.
