Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Lexie Adamson Animal Welfare, Rights and Rescue Award

Value: $2,000
Number offered: 1
Eligibility: Open to students in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. To be eligible, students must:
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Submit a statement of no more than two pages outlining their informed and passionate interest in addressing the plight of sheltered, abused and rescued animals. The Award Committee may consider the applicant's experience in animal welfare, animal rights and rescue through employment or volunteerism in both profit and non-profit organizations, within the context of their emerging careers as veterinarians. Applicants must demonstrate an interest and experience with felines.
Selection criteria: Selection will be based upon the merits of the submissions, as determined by the Award Committee.
