Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Doctor Kirk Johnston Spirit of Dentistry Memorial Scholarship

Value: $10,000
Number offered: One
Eligibility: Open to third year students in the Doctor of Dental Medicine program at the University of Saskatchewan. To be eligible, candidates must be nominated and evaluated by a review committee comprised of faculty members, the previous year's recipient, and the outgoing Saskatchewan Dental Student Society (SDSS) president. The committee will asess and rank the candidates' qualities of creativity, leadership and humanitarianism, their compassion for patients, and their ability to be ambassadors in the field, motivating fellow students and others to strive for excellence.
Selection criteria: Final selection of the recipient will be made by the Awards Committee based on the review committee's assessment. A student may not receive the award more than once.
