Bursaries
October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships
June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Eligibility: | Open to continuing students at the College of Agriculture and Bioresources majoring in either Crop Science, Soil Science,
Agronomy or Agribusiness as well as students majoring in
Agricultural Biology with minors in Field Crop Production,
Agribusiness, and Soil Science. To be eligible, applicants are to submit an original 250 to 500 word essay on a subject related to wheat research. The essay must be original work and include references where applicable. Suggested topics: Describe how an area of research has, or could, benefit the wheat sector. Describe a current challenge facing the wheat sector and how it may be addressed by research. Other essay topics may be determined by the awards committee. |
Selection criteria: | Selection will be on the merits of the essay. Award recipients will be encouraged to have their articles published in the SWDC newsletter, on the SWDC website and in the Western Producer. |
