Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Cleo Girgulis Applied Studio Lessons Bursary

Number offered: One
Eligibility: Open to Bachelor of Music and Music Education undergraduate students enrolled in Applied Lessons who are completing either MUAP 143, 243, 343, or 443 in Term 1, and are enrolled in the corresponding MUAP 145, 245, 345, and 445 in Term 2. Both courses must be taken in the regular session. The bursary will be revoked should a recipient withdraw from a MUAP course in the academic year the bursary was awarded. The Department of Music may from time-to-time alter the eligibility restrictions as they pertain to course enrollment, course completion, and program of study, as long as eligibility remains in the music discipline.
Selection criteria: Selection will be based on financial need. Preferential consideration may be given to students who have self-declared as Indigenous, as determined by the Award Committee.
