Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Did you do well in your classes? Consider applying for scholarships.

James E. Greer Teaching, Learning, and Technology Undergraduate Research Prize

ValueVaries. Initially, $1,000
Number offeredOne or more. Initially one for the 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
EligibilityOpen to undergraduate students who have undertaken research related to teaching, learning and technology, and who have presented or published research in an undergraduate research forum. For example, the USSU Undergrad Project Symposium, U of S Undergrad Research Journal, World Class Day, etc.
Selection CriteriaBased on the merits of the proposals, as determined by the award committee.
DonorThe family and friends of James E. Greer, U of S professor of computational sciences between 1988 and 2018, in order to further the spirit and legacy of Jim's love for teaching, learning and research. There is no doubt that Jim would have wanted to continue to recognize excellence in students' work and encourage students' academic growth.
ApplyTo apply, complete the online application in the Scholarships and Bursaries channel in PAWS. You will be asked to submit a citation of research and a relevant curriculum vitae. As well, a letter of support from a faculty member is to be submitted to asg.studentawards@usask.ca.
