Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

100th Anniversary Scholarship in Horticulture Science

Value: $1,000 minimum
Number offered: Varies
Purpose: To reward the spirit of volunteerism in horticultural activities in a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate horticulture sciences degree student in the Department of Plant Sciences, at the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. This scholarship was initiated to mark the 100th anniversary of horticultural science at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021.
Eligibility: Open to 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students in the Department of Plant Science at the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. To be eligible applicants must:
  • Have a minimum average of 70%.
  • Submit a statement of approximately 200-300 words demonstrating volunteerism in horticultural activities. This may include but is not limited to horticultural volunteer work with food banks, community gardens, the U of S Horticulture Club, AG in the Classroom, supporting people with disabilities, and extension activities.
Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the merits of the submitted statements, as determined by the Award Committee.
Donor: Graduates of the Horticulture Program. This scholarship was initiated to mark the 100th anniversary of horticultural science at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021.
