Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Peter Stoicheff ISAP Undergraduate Leadership Award

Value: $3,500
Purpose: To provide financial support to Indigenous undergraduate students participating in the Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP) learning communities and programming.
Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • be a current student, with a declared major and intention to graduate from a 3- or 4-year undergraduate degree program offered by the College of Arts and Science.
  • submit a one-page essay demonstrating contributions to a community of learning and research within the College of Arts & Science. This may include formal and informal student leadership; cultural and co-curricular contributions; and commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence throughout their studies.
  • commit to participate in a role model speaking opportunity, performance, or presenataion if selected as the award recipient, as organized by the ISAP team and Office of the Vice-Dean Indigenous. The topic will be proposed by the winning student and approved by the Vice Dean Indigenous and prepared for an audience of first year Indigenous students in the College of Arts & Sceince, scheduled to occur within the calendar year following designation of the award.
  • confirm Indigenous citizenship/membership based upon concurrent university policies related to the determination of Indigeneity.
Selection criteria: Academic achievement and the merits of the submitted essay.
