Bursaries

October 1st is the deadline to apply for most bursaries offered by the university. Bursaries are usually given to students in financial need, though some bursaries may have additional criteria. Recipients will be notified by early February.

Scholarships

June 1st is the deadline for a large number of scholarships on campus. Scholarships are normally granted for academic achievement or leadership experiences. Recipients will be notified by the first day of classes.

Bank of Canada Scholarship and Work Placement Program

Value: $4,000, with possibility of paid work placement at the Bank of Canada
Number offered: 4
Eligibility: Open to students who are:
  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • A self-identified person with a disability OR a Status Indian, a Non-Status Indian, Inuit or Metis. Proof of eligibility is required for all applicants.
  • A full-time undergraduate or post-graduate (i.e. Master's or PhD) student who is currently enrolled at a Canadian academic instituiton with degree-granting powers who is pursuing studies in ecomonics, finance and accounting, business or public administration, communications, information technology, human resources or law

Selection criteria: You will be evaluated on the key requirements listed below, which must be demonstrated by your curriculum vitae, your most recent transcript and a 100-300 word essay about yourself, your decision to pursue your field of study and your career interests. If you are selected as one of the top five candidates, you will be invited to an interview (either in person, by phone or virtually):
  • Overall average mark of a minimum 70 per cent
  • Career interests that are relevant to work performed at the Bank of Canada
