Dr. Gerhard Herzberg Thesis Acceleration Award

EligibilityMust be a senior Ph.D. student with an outstanding record of academic performance and research achievement.

This award is equivalent to the teaching assistantship & devolved scholarship portions of a student’s stipend and is paid out over a period of up to 12 months. Payments are initiated on Sept 1, Jan 1, or an alternate date at the discretion of the Department Head. The award is in addition to the research stipend.
DonorDr. Herzberg, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (1971), was a faculty member in the Department of Physics, 1935 - 1945. This scholarship arises from the Herzberg Fund, established with funds donated by Dr. Herzberg, the Herzberg family, Dr. G. Russel Walker, and by friends and colleagues of Dr. Herzberg.
