Hantelman Humanities Scholarships

Value: Approx. $2,000 (The specific annual amount will be determined by the Selection Committee, based on the financial resources available.)
Number offered: Varies
Eligibility: The student must be a full-time registered graduate student in the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Fine Arts in the College of Arts and Science with no other major source of funding. Major funding is considered to be no more than $17,500.
Donor: A bequest from the late Dr. L. H. Hantelman of Tyner.

Nominations from the Department Graduate Chair, on behalf of the department, should be submitted via our online form.

To support the nomination, please provide the following information:

  • Student’s name, NSID or student number, program, proposed thesis topic, and name of supervisor;
  • Evidence of academic merit and commitment to research; and
  • Statement of the relevant criteria as to why the department feels that this is a deserving student for the award.
