University of Saskatchewan Dean's Scholarship

EligibilityThe intent of the Dean's Scholarship is to attract and recruit high-calibre students to the University of Saskatchewan. These are entrance awards only and are available to students are registering for the first time in a thesis or dissertation-based graduate program in January, May or September of 2020 at the University of Saskatchewan.

To be eligible to be nominated for a Dean’s Scholarship, the student
  • must have an entrance GPA of at least 85.0%;
  • must show proof of research productivity (at least 1 publication or 1 presentation);
  • must have applied for a Master's thesis or Doctoral graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan
  • must be starting their graduate program in either January 2020, May 2020, or September 2020
ApplyWe have changed the nomination process for the Dean’s scholarship. There are now two parts to the nomination package.

  • Prospective student nominees log into Survey Monkey using their NSID and complete the information requested under Dean’s Scholarship Nomination Package Student Information. Here, students will enter their contact information and their Presentation/Publication records. As well, they must sign a Student Declaration Form confirming that they have not knowingly published through predatory open-access publishing methods. The Student Declaration Form must be forwarded, along with a list of publications/artistic performances/presentations, to the unit and signed by the prospective supervisor or Graduate Chair.
    The nominated student must provide photocopies of official transcripts from all attended post-secondary institutions to their nominating unit. If the nominee was/is a U of S student, they may attach unofficial transcripts for their U of S courses.
  • The nominating unit will complete the College/School/Unit Nomination for Dean’s Scholarship Form and forward it by email to gradstudies.awards@usask.ca by the deadline date. All sections of this form must be completed, and it must be signed by either the unit’s Graduate Chair or Department Head (or equivalent). The nominated student must submit photocopies of official transcripts from all attended post-secondary institutions to their prospective unit, which must be included in the nomination package submitted by the unit. If the nominee was/is a U of S student, they may attach unofficial transcripts for their U of S courses.
All information must be completed and submitted by the prospective student and nominating unit by the deadline date.
