Governor General's Gold Medal

EligibilityPurpose: To recognize the outstanding academic performance of a graduate student. To be awarded based on the recognition of outstanding academic performance in the graduate program. Information which will be considered by the selection committee includes the thesis, coursework, publications and presentations deriving from their research field, and awards received. The report of the external examiner is particularly important.

Open to all students who will be convocating in a Master's or a PhD at Spring Convocation or who graduated the previous Fall at the University of Saskatchewan.
ApplyAll graduate programs are invited to nominate the most outstanding student in their program. Complete nomination packages for this award must include:
  1. A letter from the Department Head giving a detailed rationale for the nomination
  2. The nominee's curriculum vitae
  3. Official transcripts (only for graduate work conducted outside the U of S)
  4. A brief statement (no more than 500 words) from the nominee on the significance of his/her research and related achievements during the graduate program.

Please submit your nomination to the Director of Graduate Awards and Scholarships in the College of Graduate Studies and Research.
